Top 5 iOS Navigation and Maps Apps in the US: Q3 2024 Performance

In the third quarter of 2024, the landscape of navigation and maps applications on iOS in the United States showcased diverse trends in downloads and active users. Here, we delve into the performance of the top five apps in this category, using data sourced from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a robust presence, with weekly downloads starting at approximately 443K in early July and showing a gradual decline to around 341K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users were impressively stable, hovering around 25M throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a varied download pattern, beginning with 175K downloads in early July and decreasing to about 137K by the end of September. The weekly active users remained relatively consistent, fluctuating between 8.2M and 8.5M.

Google Earth saw its weekly downloads range from 114K at the start of the quarter to approximately 97K by the end. Active users showed a slight decline from 690K to 591K over the same period.

For the GPS Camera with Time Stamp, downloads began at 42K, dipping to about 17K towards the quarter's end. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 92K and dropping to around 89K.

The Neshan Map app experienced a peak in weekly downloads in early September with nearly 30K, eventually tapering to 16K by the end of the quarter. Active users, however, maintained a more stable trend, reaching a high of 177K in early September.
